Ferenc Madai PhD, LLM is a geologist graduated as exploration geologist (Moscow, USSR), working at the University of Miskolc as an associate professor and head of Institute of Exploration Geosciences. Second degree is an LLM from CEPMLP, University of Dundee, UK, in specialisation of Mineral Law and Policy.
Between 2005 and 2011 he was a member of CEN TC 292 / WG8 workgroup, developing standardized methods for characterisation of wastes from the extractive industry. The main task of the workgroup was to develop documents that support the implementation of the Extractive Waste Directive. In 2012-2014 he participated as a researcher and WP leader in the CriticEl project, an EU-supported Hungarian research projet focusing on resource potential of critical elements from Hungarian primary and secondary resources. In 2015-2017 he have participated in the INTRAW H2020 project, as a WP member developing studies on raw materials policy of the EU and overseas target conutries (Canada, USA, Japan, Australia).
In January 2016 he joined the team of the MINLEX project as WP leader, completing a report on «Legal framework for mineral extraction and permitting procedures for exploration and exploitation in the EU» in response to a need by the Commission to foster the sustainable supply of minerals from within Member States.
He participated in different H2020 and EIT RawMaterials research projects such as INTRAW, ROBOMINERS, REEBAUX with focus on innovative mineral resource exploration and extraction.
Recenty he is the coordinator of the TIMREX EIT RawMaterials project and works as the institutional coordinator for other EIT RM projects such as RIS Internship, DIMESSE-2.
He is a national delegate board member of the European Federation of Geologists as well as member of the Board of the AMIR consortium. Since July 2017 he is an appointed member of the EIP Raw Materials OG.

Roland Róbert Romenda; M.Sc., junior research fellow
Institute of Raw Material Preparation and Environmental Processing, Faculty of Earth Science and Engineering, University of Miskolc, HUNGARY
He finished his B.Sc. and M.Sc. studies at the Faculty of Earth Science and Engineering as an Environmental Engineer, specialized for Environmental Processing in 2014 and 2016. After master’s degree he began his Ph.D. studies at Mikoviny Sámuel Doctoral School of Earth Sciences and started working at the Institute of Raw Material Preparation and Environmental Processing as junior research fellow.
In 2021, he completed the absolutorium process and started writing his thesis work “Experimental testing and development of air flow devices for the circular economy”.
In addition to holding practices, during his work at the Institute of Raw Material Preparation and Environmental Processing he participated in industrial tests with a residual municipal solid wastes processing plant with the newly developed KLME combined separator, surveyed the state of the Hungarian waste management and analysed the composition of the residual municipal solid wastes all over the country.
Tekla SZÉP, PhD

Research fellow at UNEC Women Researchers Council
She is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Institute of World and Regional Economics, Faculty of Economics, University of Miskolc, and a research fellow at UNEC Women Researchers Council. Currently, besides her other preoccupations, she is an institutional EIT KIC Raw Materials Coordinator. She is an economist, and her research interests are focused on environmental and energy economics with special emphasis given to the circular economy, energy policy, energy transition, energy efficiency and energy poverty. In addition to her work, she has also directed a variety of national and international EU funded projects. She has vast experience in proposal writing, project management and evaluation, policy monitoring. Tekla has been cooperating with consortium partners and colleagues from different European universities, companies, national and international organizations, governments. She holds a PhD in Management and Business Administration.
